Meet South Africa's best young designers by Caesarstone


Now in its 12th year, the Caesarstone Student Designer Competition has welcomed in some of the best and most dynamic design entries since its inception. This year’s brief was compiled by Michele Rhoda of ARRCC, that requested the design of Tenebris Lab’s first concept store. After much deliberation, this year’s winners are:
– FIRST PLACE: Kgothatso John Malange, Tshwane University of Technology
– FIRST RUNNER-UP: Frida Saxin Mansson, BHC Design School
– SECOND RUNNER-UP: Katlego Ramaloko, Tshwane University of Technology

The winner has won a all expenses paid trip to the international design fair of their choice, to the value of R100 000 for them and their lecturer! Runners-up receive cash prizes to the value of R20 000 and the best presentation is awarded R7 500.

Every year Caesarstone invites South Africa’s design institutions and universities to participate in the annual Student Designer competition. We are now in our 12th year and cannot wait to see what the 2019 entrants have to offer.
