Mosi-oa-Tunya NP, Livingstone, Zambia, where we stayed at Toka Leya Camp on the Zambezi River. Chobe NP, Botswana, where we stayed at Baobab 1 Camp. Okavango Delta Region, Botswana, where we stayed at Santawani Okavango Delta Camp. The final 2 nights were spent in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe at Shearwater Explorers Village. History Happy Hour Week 34: African-Americans in WWI

This week on History Happy Hour, we turn our attention to the experience of African American soldiers in WWI. From the famed Harlem Hellfighters to a little known trio of Black women, more than 350 thousand African Americans went “over there” in the first World War. What did they do and how did it change things in the U.S. when they came back home? Host Historians Chris Anderson and Rick Beyer welcome Col. Krewasky Salter, US Army (retired), curator of the exhibit “We Return Fighting: The African American Experience in WWI.” The exhibit premiered at the National Museum of African American History. Col. Salter is also the executive director of the First Division Museum in Wheaton, Il. Join us this Sunday at 4 PM ET – and don’t forget your cocktail!
